Schedule of Fees

The key here is that I really enjoy doing this type of work. As such, I try to keep my rates as reasonable as possible, especially for simpler works. I also enjoy a good challenge, so I'd love to write, for example, an original arrangement of a public domain tune for your brass quartet. Keep in mind, however, that this is a much more involved process and will require a negotiated fee.

The basic fees start like this:

  • Single page, single voice transposition: $20
  • Single page, double voice transposition: $30
  • Single page, single voice embellishment: $25
  • Single page, double voice embellishment: $40

"single page" refers to the final product, not the source music. Unless specified, your "flute" arrangement will be on a separate page from the "piano" part you provided--keeping your cost down.

"transposition" is, for example, copying the melody to a new page, and transposing it to the appropriate key or clef.

"embellishment" is effectively creating a NEW voice that may contain elements of a melody, but includes other notes to distinguish it from the main piece. Embellishment includes the cost of transposition.
